The legendary Audi Quattro is set to return to the automotive world, this time with a modern spirit and exceptional performance, through the Audacious IV project developed by British company Audacious Automotive, combining the Quattro's iconic classic design with mechanical engineering derived from the Audi RS4.

The project offers a unique experience for classic sports car enthusiasts, retaining the famous exterior lines of the original Quattro while equipping it with a 4.2-liter V8 engine and performance options reaching up to 740 horsepower, alongside the development of a version aiming to reach 10,000 rpm.

Classic Audi Quattro returns with modern RS4 engineering

The Audacious IV is built on the chassis of the B7-generation Audi RS4, utilizing the original Quattro to provide the classic exterior design.

The company did not merely revive the car's historical appearance; it retained a range of essential engineering components from the RS4 model, including chassis engineering, suspension, brakes, electronics, and the six-speed manual transmission.

The company also modified the transmission and all-wheel-drive system to handle the additional power levels, ensuring sports performance that suits the nature of the project.

740-horsepower V8 engine and 10,000 rpm option

The car relies on a 4.2-liter V8 engine, offering two levels of performance.

In its standard version, the engine generates up to 592 horsepower, while power increases to 740 horsepower when equipped with a TSS Supercharger.

The company's ambitions do not stop at these two options, as it is developing a third version of the engine aiming to reach 10,000 rpm, focusing on throttle response and performance at high engine speeds.

The company will offer this high-revving engine in two options, with or without the supercharger, bringing the total powertrain options to four different configurations.

According to the company, the Audacious IV can accelerate from zero to 60 mph (about 96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 200 mph (about 322 km/h).

A cabin combining classic character and sports equipment

The interior cabin maintains the classic spirit of the car, with touches inspired by vintage designs, while retaining some RS4 components, such as the steering wheel and instrument cluster dials.

The company also allows customers to customize the interior according to their preferences, providing an experience that combines historical character with modern details.

Limited production of 50 cars and a price starting at £350,000

Audacious Automotive plans to produce only 50 units of the Audacious IV, a move that enhances its exclusive nature.

Forty cars will feature a body made entirely of carbon fiber, while the remaining 10 units will receive a metal finish.

According to a report published by motor1.com, the car's price starts at £350,000, equivalent to approximately $468,275, excluding the cost of the two Audi RS4 and Quattro cars that the customer must provide for the build process.

The manufacturing and preparation process takes about three years from the start of the project until the car is delivered to its owner.

Thus, the Audacious IV presents one of the boldest attempts to revive classic cars, combining Audi's historical icon with modern performance technologies, with limited production aimed at enthusiasts of rare cars and high-performance modified projects.
